Our Working Groups

DOJ GEN operates five working groups that seek to advance gender equality throughout the Department.

Sexual Harassment and Misconduct

Ensures that every DOJ component enforces DOJ’s “zero tolerance” policy toward sexual harassment and advocates for Department-wide structural changes to address systemic issues.

Leadership and advancement

Advocates for diversity in leadership positions and management roles throughout the Department by hosting brown bag lunches, administering a leadership program, and collecting data on the current number of women in leadership roles.

Special Projects

Promotes intersectionality within DOJ GEN, advocates for greater training on gender-based implicit bias, and creates resources for easier access to reproductive health services for government employees.

Leave Issues and Workplace Flexibility

Surveys DOJ components to compare leave and flexible work option policies in order to analyze the results and advocate for better policies Department-wide.

Recruitment and Retention

Raises DOJ GEN visibility by hosting recruitment events, establishing a student mentorship program, organizing speaker events, and developing exit surveys and interviews for departing employees.
