DAG Rod Rosenstein Releases New Sexual Harassment Guidelines
On April 30, 2018, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and Assistant Attorney General for Administration Lee Lofthus issued a memorandum for heads of department components to consider additional steps to eliminate harassment at the DOJ. The memorandum embodies the DAG's response to the memorandum that the Office of the Inspector General issued about how the DOJ handles sexual misconduct and harassment claims.
DOJ GEN Letter to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein
On August 18, 2017, DOJ GEN’s executive board and sexal harrassment working group wrote a letter to Deputy Attorney General Rosenstein about the Office of the Inspector General’s (OIG) report finding that the Civil Division mishandled sexual harassment allegations. In the letter, DOJ GEN offers to work with the office of the Attorney General to implement the OIG’s recommendations to ensure that the Department of Justice is free from sexual harassment and misconduct.
Meeting with the Office of the Deputy Attorney General
On December 20, 2017, Stacey Young and Melanie Krebs-Pilotti represented DOJ GEN at a meeting with Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein’s office to discuss systemic issues with DOJ’s handling of sexual harassment and misconduct complaints. Stacey and Melanie proposed actions the Deputy Attorney General should take in response to the Inspector General’s recent critical reviews of components’ handling of sexual harassment allegations.
